SHS Summit 2019 was one of the best retreats I’ve ever experienced. There are few experiences that I had in this camp that are worth reminiscing as the days pass by. Having to bond with my team mates and cabin mates were amusing. In the cabin, we had our laughable moments. And in the team building, all of us became faithful for whatever challenge we may face on and showed a strength of team work. The last thing that I want to indicate are the sessions and the Crux night. I take heed of every word that the pastor said. His testimonies touched my heart. Crux night was the night where we unwind from all the pain and take a moment to relax and remember how much God has loved us. I enjoyed it so much. I sang from the bottom of my heart in the praise and worship. It truly is wonderful.
As the pastor said how impure the world is despite for Jesus dying in the cross for us, I felt guilty that I am a sinner. No matter how much I do to try to repent from my sins, it keeps on coming back. I feel like there is no hope before. But in this camp, I am optimistic that I can fix my relationship with God. I can finally continue my walk with God as I abstain from my sin. From the moment I surrendered something to the Lord, I know that his power is beneath me to fight the devil. I plan to fix my eyes to the Lord and do everything that he tells me to. I plan as well to bring God into our family. I plan to bring God to the people I love and to the people who need him. This is a new legacy that I am willing to take as I become a man of God.
“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
-Ephesians 4:32
The countless times that God has forgiven us yet we still are sinners. If there is a chance for us to reconcile, we can do that by helping others. We can change by simply just giving our hearts to those who are in need. In this world, there are people who cannot help themselves. If we can’t give them what we want, we can give them what they need. Compassion and kindness is what makes humanity better. God would appreciate it if we help each other and make the world a better place. I felt ashamed of not doing my part in this society. If God has forgiven me, then I shall not abuse the freedom and the will that he has given me.
